A walk that joins the dots
A good walk gives you more than a list of landmarks. Starting at Tūranga, this route connects Christchurch’s central squares, New Regent Street, the Cardboard Cathedral, street art, Riverside Market, the Avon River, the Botanic Gardens and the Arts Centre. Your guide brings the places together as a story of a city that keeps changing.
There is time to pause: one scoop of Rollickin’ gelato and a hot or cold drink at C1 Espresso are included. Riverside is a rest stop, rather than a third food inclusion.

Your afternoon, at a glance
Start with the central city: Tūranga, Victoria Square and Cathedral Square. Continue through New Regent Street for gelato, then towards the Cardboard Cathedral and C1 Espresso. The walk takes in street art and Riverside Market before following the Avon towards the gardens and Arts Centre. Finish at the Bridge of Remembrance.
The guide may change the order or route for weather, closures or safety. Building visits are exterior views unless specifically included in your booking.
Exactly where to meet
Meet on the public footpath at the Gloucester Street doors of Tūranga Central Library, opposite The Court Theatre. Tūranga’s address is 60 Cathedral Square, but you need the Gloucester Street entrance. Do not wait at the Cathedral Square doors or the café.
Arrive 10 minutes before your confirmed departure. Look for the guide in the branded shirt. Your walk finishes at the Bridge of Remembrance on Cashel Street.
