The Ultimate

How long is the Ultimate walk?

Allow three hours for the 5.5 km route. The route has been retimed after repeat walk-throughs.

Where exactly do we meet?

At the Gloucester Street doors of Tūranga Central Library, opposite The Court Theatre, on the public footpath. Do not wait at the Cathedral Square doors or the café.

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive 10 minutes before the departure time shown on your confirmation. Look for the guide in the branded shirt.

Where does the Ultimate finish?

At the Bridge of Remembrance on Cashel Street. This is a point-to-point walk.

What is included?

The guided walk, one scoop of Rollickin’ gelato and one hot or cold drink at C1 Espresso. Extra food, additional drinks, transport and admission tickets are not included.

Will there be breaks and toilets?

The route includes seated breaks, with toilets at the start and at points along the route. Facilities depend on venue access on the day.

Accessibility

Is the walk step-free?

A fully step-free route has not been verified. The walk is mainly flat and sealed, with a short cobbled section at the Arts Centre. Contact us before booking to discuss your requirements.

Can I bring a pram or carrier?

Prams and carriers are welcome under the supplied terms. The route includes cobbles and crossings; ask before booking if you need a particular access arrangement.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Tell us about allergies and dietary needs before booking. Specific substitutes and allergen arrangements must be confirmed with the venues; they are not guaranteed.

What should I wear or bring?

Comfortable walking shoes, water, layers, sun protection and a rain jacket. Be prepared for changing weather.

Does the walk run in rain?

The supplied policy says tours can run in light rain. The guide may change or cancel a route for safety. Read the full refund and cancellation policy.

Changes & cancellations

What happens if the operator cancels?

The supplied policy offers a choice of a full refund or a transfer to another date when the operator cancels.

What if I am late?

Call the number on your confirmation. The guide may be able to help you join, but cannot hold the group or guarantee a catch-up. A missed departure is treated under the no-show policy.

How do I change an existing booking?

Use the booking platform or contact route in your confirmation. Changes are subject to availability and the terms of the platform you booked through.

A booking is confirmed by written confirmation from the operator or booking platform. Choosing a date or clicking through to checkout is not a confirmed booking.

How far does the Ultimate Christchurch Walking Tour cover?

About 5.5 km over roughly three hours, at an unhurried pace with regular stops. The route stays on footpaths and level ground through the central city and along the Avon.

How long is Christchurch in 90?

Allow 90 minutes for this guided walk through central Christchurch.

Where does the tour start and finish?

Meet your guide at the Bridge of Remembrance in Christchurch. The walk finishes at the same landmark.

How far will we walk?

Expect approximately 4 km on foot during the 90-minute tour.

What is included?

The guided walk with a local guide and one scoop of Rollickin’ gelato are included. Port shuttle transport and admission tickets are not included.

How much will it cost?

Planned prices are NZ$149 for adults aged 16 and over, and NZ$99 for children aged 0–15. Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST.

Can I book Christchurch in 90 yet?

Does the tour include transport from Lyttelton?

Port shuttle transport from Lyttelton is not included. The tour starts and ends at the Bridge of Remembrance in central Christchurch, so plan your port transfers separately.
