About Us

We are Barnaby and Jo, a couple of New Zealanders that moved to Thailand sometime in 2016, firstly to Udon Thani, and later to Bangkok. We've both always been really interested in the idea of living overseas, particularly South-East Asia, as Jo grew up in Brunei. Jo had visited Thailand three times on family holidays, but it was Barnaby's very first time when we decided to move over.

One of the things we loved about Thailand was the opportunity to travel to new places, locally or abroad. Within just a few months of moving to Thailand, we had visited the USA (Las Vegas is one of our favourite places to holiday!), the Netherlands, Laos, as well as travelling all over Thailand itself.

On our website we aim to share engaging travel articles, showing you amazing places you can visit, city guides, hotel reviews, and more. There will be lots of Thailand content, given the fact that we live here, and lots of New Zealand content too. And of course, we'll take you along with us when we travel internationally.

We've both always been really passionate about a bunch of things like photography, web and videos, and that ultimately led to us creating This Uncharted World in 2021. We have a background in blogging and photography and wanted to create a space where we could use our skills to show off how awesome Bangkok is. We thought we had something a little different to offer, and that's exactly what we do with our YouTube videos. As well as our 'Ultimate Guides' and 'Things to do' series, we love showing you things that are a little different and off the beaten track.
